Relating to the arts of traditional world cultures, each issue is an ongoing, dynamic job that involves multiple deadlines, often requiring a quick turnaround.

Polynesian Art by Kevin Conru

This was an unusual project of 272 pages and more than 54,000 words. We were called in last minute to review the text. Working with two proofreaders, we turned it around in 48 hours.

An English Girl in New Guinea: Kathleen Haddon’s Journal and Photographs from New Guinea

The main text was written as a diary in the early twentieth century. Proofreading required sensitivity to the editors’ desire to preserve the historical context of the writing.

100 Blades vol. 2

With relatively short intro text and appendices, this heavily illustrated book featured captions needing standardized formatting in addition to general proofreading.

Queen of the Fillmore: The Life and Times of Leola King

Relating to the history of one of the most colorful figures of San Francisco’s mid-twentieth-century jazz scene, this project involves research, fact checking, original composition, and copy editing.

Agiba and the Head Cult of New Guinea

A combination of contemporary and historical texts that called for standard copy editing and proofreading, and a method to ensure accurate language transcriptions.
